Easter 2012

Happy Easter
After our fantastic concert in March, we look forward to our new term and to welcoming everyone for our first rehearsal onMONDAY 16th APRIL, 8.00pm at Broomwood Church Hall, Kyrle Road, SW11, at 8pm. We will be performing Dido and Aeneas (Purcell). I attach the registration form.
This piece has opportunities for a number of small solos from the choir as follows:
Second woman – soprano
Sorceress – Alto
First witch – Soprano
Second witch – Soprano
Sprit – Alto
Sailor – Tenor

This is another term of musical opportunities. The Festival Chorus has been invited to take part in the final concert of St Luke’s Music Society season as the chorus for the concert production of Die Fledermaus (Strauss) under the direction of Derek CardenThis promises to be a most enjoyable experience and we hope will appeal to many. It will involve no extra expense nor extra rehearsals, beyond being available for the day of the concert.
The concert itself takes place on SATURDAY 19th MAY 7.30pm at St Luke’s Church Ramsden Road, SW12
REHEARSALS: It has been planned that the rehearsal on MONDAY 23rd APRIL will be devoted to Die Fledermaus. There will then be a rehearsal on SATURDAY 19th MAY 10am – 1pm with final full rehearsal 2.30pm – 4.30pm. This will take the place of the scheduled Festival Chorus Saturday Rehearsal. To help with numbers, please fill in the attached form.
As with the Purcell, there are opportunities for small solo parts. Please contact Antony Lewis-Crosby for more information if you are interested.
 St Luke’s Music Society – Saturday 28th April – As a result of unprecedented demand,Stacey Kent will perform a Matinee Concert, 16.00 at St Luke’s Church, Ramsden Road SW12. Tickets available from Northcote Music and www.slms.org.uk
