Saturday Rehearsal

Our first Saturday rehearsal is almost upon us

Saturday 10th October – 10.00am – 1.00pm, St Mary’s Church, Balham High Road, SW12

St Mary’s Church is very close to Balham Underground and Overground Stations. The bus stop is also nearby. There is no parking for cars, but bicycles can be secured outside; please do not bring bicycles into the church.

Please wear warm clothes and if arriving before 9.45, could we ask you to be as quiet as possible in the church since there is a service at that time . These Saturday Rehearsals are an opportunity to revise material we have been singing over the past few weeks and are well worth attending

Here is the next translation of what we are singing:

127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
