Concert Tonight

Our final rehearsal will be on Saturday 12th November, 2.00pm, St Luke’s Church – if you wish to sing, you must attend this.

Please arrive by 1.45pm to be seated.

The rehearsal will run till 5.00pm. There will be a break BUT we cannot offer tea/coffee to the choir – there just is not time. PLEASE bring your own thermos/snack to refresh yourself on the stage.

The staging for this concert will be less straight forward than usual since the first half of the evening will be devoted to the Beethoven for which the semi-chorus will be seated at the front. It may be you will find yourself seated in a slightly different position to the one you may have had. Luckily, we should all be prepared through Andrea’s practice of moving us around.
During the interval the piano will be removed.

Concert – Saturday 12th November 7.30pm, pre-concert talk 6.30pm . Choir are welcome to attend and we hope you will. Otherwise, please, arrive by 7.15pm and gather in the Hall.

Concert dress – Men: black dinner suits, white shirts and black bow ties

Ladies: all black; long/mid calf dresses/skirts/trousers. Sleeved tops. No obvious jewellery

Music folders – remember to bring yours. There will be folders to borrow/buy at the rehearsal.

Please do not have bottles of water or handbags on the stage during the performance. Bags can be kept in the Chancel or, even, better with friends or family in the audience.
Party – this is a very Festival Chorus tradition, and a particularly nice one, since it allows us to relax after a wonderful concert with a glass of wine, food and conversation; a truly social affair. This year we must thank Angie and Terry Coghlan who will be our hosts. – 15 Old Park Avenue, SW17 8RH
£6.00 for your first glass of wine + food. £3.00 subsequent glasses. Everyone is welcome; do bring your family.

Putting on the concert requires support, not least is setting up/taking down the stage and the bar, manning the bar and front of house. Thank you to all those who have signed up already. There is still time to volunteer -just talk to Time Sanders-Hewitt or Mary Ellis or myself if you can help. It really does make a difference.

Please could I ask for someone to host one of our soloists between the rehearsal and the concert?
